本片讲述了镇海将军陈峥为了查明妻子被杀一案，意外发现朝中阴谋，并在单纯善良的人鱼帮助下，铲除邪恶之人，重还朝中安宁的故事。该片中的人鱼不仅善良，更有面对邪恶势力不低头的勇气，正是她的勇气感染了陈峥，让一直为了家族荣誉隐忍过活的陈峥在最后能够拾起斗志，打败邪恶势力，重还百姓安宁。本片通过陈峥对待朝廷高官的态度转变告诉我们要有面对真相的勇气，不是一味的隐忍就能全身而退，反而是鼓足勇气面对真相，敢于探索事实，才能够获得最终的成功，不仅能够保护自己，更能够真正的保护到至亲至爱的人。本片更是通过人鱼这一角色倡导我们要保持真善美的初心，都要秉持善良的本性，知恩图报，不为一己私欲去损害他人的利益。
