乌克兰南部一隅，一辆越野车载着“欧洲安全与合作组织”人员来到人烟稀少的边境线。担任翻译的卢卡斯因故与车上人员失去联络，手机没有信号，身上的钱和护照都丢了，只好到附近小镇落脚。他遇上失败的发明家弗瓦，并发现这里的生活超出想像，不同于任何他所了解的社会形态。这位城市大男孩在一片宽广、炙热、贫困的土地，遇上所爱，开始探求他从未知其存在的快乐和幸福。导演以他过去拍摄纪录片的经验，结合了现实与虚幻，精致如画的影像令人陶醉，在这个摇摇欲坠，超凡脱俗的梦境中，生动地描绘了乌克兰南部色彩缤纷的世界，谱出了不一样的超现实喜剧。
